Johnny Cash was known to pen songs on the funnier side, and he had quite the talent for it. There are a handful of songs I still laugh at to this day.

I'm gonna start off with a couple more obscure pieces from the Man in Black that you may have forgotten about. Then, of course, I've got two songs from his that are infamously funny.
In no particular order, here are four Johnny Cash songs that still make me chuckle.
Flushed From The Bathroom Of Your Heart
"Flushed From The Bathroom Of Your Heart" is a song that starts off innocently enough, until you hear the rushed "Indianapolis." That's when you know you're in for a treat.
He just keeps going and going, with each comparison being more outlandish than the last. I think my favorite lines are the "elevator" and "calendar" comparisons. Good stuff.
Foolish Questions
"Foolish Questions" is a masterpiece in observational storytelling. He rants about four examples of senseless questions that open themselves up for sarcastic responses. And the best part is that he provides brilliant answers.
And they make me laugh every time.
A Chicken In Black
Here we go, "The Chicken in Black." It's an outlandish song that makes you wonder 'how on Earth did he even think about this.'
The accompanying music video is just as ridiculous, and does the song justice beautifully. It's a joy to listen to every time, and comes across as more of a standard song, making it easier to listen to again and again.
A Boy Named Sue
You knew this one was coming, did you? "A Boy Named Sue" is a song like the previous entry on this list. It's got a narrative and drama, with a complete arc that has a brilliant punchline at the end.
I think that subversion at the end is what really makes this song. The first time I listened to the tune, I was expecting him to name his son Sue, and was delightfully surprised.
I've thoroughly enjoyed listening to these songs again when making this list. Oh, why not? I'll listen to them all once more...
