Reba McEntire Remembers 18th Anniversary Of When Her 'Reba' Sitcom Ended

It's been 18 years since Reba McEntire bid farewell to her hit TV sitcom, Reba. The show began in 2001, airing for five seasons on the WB network, before switching to CW for the final two seasons.

McEntire remembered the anniversary with a heartfelt social media post.

"Today in 2007, we said goodbye to the Hart family in the same place where it all started," McEntire captions the video, which shows Reba's emotional final scene. "We became a family, on and off screen, and I will always love the time we had together!"

Reba McEntire's Return To TV

McEntire has for years said she'd love to have a reboot of Reba someday. While that has yet to happen, the Country Music Hall of Fame member is back on TV again, this time in the NBC sitcom, Happy's Place. The show reunites her with Melissa Peterman, who joined McEntire on Reba. McEntire's longtime boyfriend, Rex Linn, also stars in the comedy.

One of McEntire's former co-stars on Reba, namely Steve Howey, has already appeared on Happy's Place. Howey, who played McEntire's teenage son-in-law Van Montgomery on Reba, recently guest-starred on McEntire's new show.

"This was an opportunity to reacquaint with some people that I adore that I grew up with, Reba McEntire and Melissa Peterman," Howey says (via  PopCulture). I've always said that Reba has the Midas touch. [She's] an amazing person and a mentor for me. "

McEntire is thrilled to be back on TV, and to be working with Linn. It was her idea to have him join the cast, happily combining their personal and professional lives.

"When we were working on this, they said, 'We're going to have a short-order cook,' and I said, 'That's gotta be Rex,'" McEntire says on the Today Show. "We have a blast. I love it. He brings me into work. He drives us to work and then takes us home, and he's my rehearsal coach, so I rehearse a lot."

Happy's Place airs on Friday nights at 8:00 p.m. ET on NBC.
