Luke Bryan Adds A Rather Strange Ingredient To His BLTs

Luke Bryan has given up his "perfect sandwich," which is essentially a BLT but with one peculiar addition. I believe he has invented the BELT sandwich.

Ahead of American Idol, Luke Bryan was interviewed at the Empire State Building. The clip was shared by the official X page for the Empire State Building, where it further promoted the show. For whatever reason, the country singer was asked about his perfect sandwich.

Journalism is at its peak, I know.

I didn't reckon I'd pitch to my editor an idea about Luke Bryan's favorite sandwich, but there was something strange about it. An idea that's never crossed my mind before. In all honestly, he may have invented a new sandwich entirely.

Upon being asked, Luke Bryan immediately jumped to answer, his response ready.

"My favorite sandwich is a BLT with an egg," he said, "on wheat."

An egg? In a BLT sandwich? Madness, surely?

If enough people try and enjoy a BLT with an egg in it, I believe a new name is in order for this discovery. The 'BELT' comes to mind, as it also spells a regular word. The 'BLTE' has a nice ring to it, though, especially if you pronounce the letters individually like the original sandwich.

Luke Bryan's BLTE Is A Million Dollar Idea

Now, you're probably thinking that I'm being ridiculous, as the BLT with egg as an ingredient isn't really new. In fact, you may have a local cafe that sells them.

However, this idea isn't mainstream, or at least I haven't observed it to be. And considering how famous Luke Bryan is, he could easily come out with a "Luke Bryan BLTE" (termed the 'Bryan BELT' or 'Bryan's BLTE') and fans would flock to the sandwich. It would be called innovative and delicious. At least by the marketing teams, anyway.

People hit the comments to share their surprise over egg as an ingredient, so the idea is in fact new to some people.

"BLT... I like as long as the bacon is cooked well, very little mayo, fresh crunchy lettuce, a dash of Worcestershire sauce, and add some avocado. I haven't tried a BLT with egg," concisely wrote one.

So it's settled. If you see a Luke Bryan brand of BLT egg sandwiches being announced, you'll know of the humble journalist that came up with the idea.
