Rock Frontman’s Fiancee Falls To Death At Sea From Cruise Ship

Kimberly Burch, the fiancee of Faster Pussycat frontman Taime Downe, has fallen to her death at sea while aboard an 80s-themed cruise ship. The rocker's fiancee fell "from a room balcony" during the couple's first night on a Royal Caribbean cruise.

While attending The 80s Cruise on March 2, Burch allegedly engaged in a "heated" argument with 60-year-old Downe. Sometime after, she plunged off the balcony and died at sea on the Explorer of the Seas ship. According to the Hollywood Reporter, Burch fell overboard around 11 PM.

They weren't attending the cruise just for fun. The rock frontman was performing with his band on the cruise, and Burch tagged along on this seven-day cruise. Although they hadn't yet married, the two were in a romantic relationship for around six years.

Burch's last online appearance was just hours before her tragic death. The fiancee made an Instagram post including a selfie with her and Downe. She also wrote, "We made it to @the80scruise."

A spokesman for Royal Caribbean Group spoke to the Daily Mail and gave a statement since the incident. "Our crew immediately launched a search and rescue effort, is working with local authorities, and we are providing support and assistance to the guest's family during this difficult time."

The spokesman then requested fans to "respect the privacy of our guest's family." They also had no further details to share, but as the investigation continues, we may discover more.

Sources told the Hollywood Reporter that the ship would continue its journey despite the tragedy. The U.S. Coast Guard would take over the search operation for her body.

The outlet also spoke with an anonymous passenger who knew some details about the incident. "Squeeze was the band playing last night," they said. "There was an announcement over the PA saying someone went overboard so the ship was going to stop and turn around to try and locate the person."

According to this passenger, they halted the ship's course "for a few hours." They also deployed safety boats with floodlights to light up the area. Shockingly, someone may have caught the moment on film. "My wife spoke with some people on one of the decks saying they heard that it was a woman and it was caught on camera."

Eventually the cruise continued its course, and the ship docked at Nassau, Bahamas "a few hours behind schedule." The staff didn't cancel any of the excursions despite how late they were.
