Jelly Roll To Play An Ex-Convict In Upcoming CBS Series

Jelly Roll is to play his first proper acting role in an upcoming CBS series.

The country singer is set to play Noah, an ex-convict, in the third season of Fire Country. US Weekly exclusively shared the news. The outlet shared that the episode featuring Jelly Roll will air on April 11. So make sure you don't miss it!

If you miss it, though, you can catch it on Paramount+.

Not much is known about his role, aside from Noah being an ex-convict who's a healthcare worker. He's trying to turn his life around; something Jelly Roll can relate very personally to.

"Now, he works with patients like his mom, and their loved ones who struggle with saying their own goodbyes," says the outlet.

It's as though the role was made for him. Considering the character shares the same name as his son, this could be the case.

Although this is Jelly Roll's first role, this isn't his first time on our screens. Some may remember that he cameoed in Tulsa King, in the second episode of season 2. Considering this is a cameo, and he's famous, I don't think it really counts as a 'debut role,' you know?

I'm looking forward to seeing him take on a real role. Although not everyone shares the same enthusiasm.

Mixed Responses For Jelly Roll's 'Fire Country' Role

Not everyone is looking forward to Jelly Roll being on Fire Country. I can understand where some of them are coming from, despite me wanting to see how he does. People took to the comments to share their thoughts.

"God please no more country singer who can't really act," pleads one, fed up with country stars in the acting scene.

"Hopefully his acting is better than his singing," scathed another.

"Why. I know there are starving actors that are way better????" questioned a concerned viewer. The acting world only gets harder and harder to get into thanks to how saturated it is, so it must be frustrating to know that a role you could have scored was instantly given to someone famous.

Many are pretty excited, however.

"Yasssss!!' And on my Birthday!! A very happy girl here!!" exclaimed a fan.

"Fantabulous add!!!" commented another.

"AHHH THIS IS GONNA BE SO GOOD," yelled one more.
