Willie Nelson's Perfect Response After He Once Survived A Plane Crash Without A Scratch

Willie Nelson has had a life filled with dramatic ups and downs - and he made it through all of them intact. He has a certain unquenchable joie de vivre that transcends adversity and obstacles. His music has brought the greatest pleasure to countless fans over the years. I recently re-watched a 90th birthday tribute to Nelson on PBS. (He just turned 92. Happy Birthday!) Stars like Keith Richards, George Strait, Sheryl Crow, Miranda Lambert, Snoop Dogg and many others joined the Red-Headed Stranger on stage for rousing renditions of his songs. You could see and feel how much he is loved.

He unflappably shrugs off events that would bring someone else to their knees. Like a plane crash, for example. Wait, what?! Yes, I said a plane crash that Willie Nelson walked a away from unscathed. It was almost as if the fates decided to leave the guy alone. I mean, he's still touring at 92. Is he rugged or what?

Willie Nelson Didn't Let A Little Mishap Like A Plane Crash Slow Him Down

Per savingcountrymusic.com, Nelson was involved in a plane wreck. Pro golfer and Nelson buddy Larry Trader said the aircraft that Nelson was aboard was coming in for a landing. It hit a hole on the landing strip, then it flipped over, and it crashed. It must have seemed like no one on the plane would be alive and in one piece. Someone hastened to notify the media. The reporters must have been thinking there would be a juicy, gory tale awaiting them.

Like cats with nine lives, the pilot and Nelson were battered but largely alright. Journalists eagerly peppered them with questions about how they both miraculously survived. Nelson was unperturbed. He coolly retorted per the outlet, "Why, this was a perfect landing. I walked away from it, didn't I?"

He's 92 And Still Going Strong

Nothing gets to Willie Nelson. As his daughter Amy said per the Austin American-Statesman, it's common for people to advise older individuals to slow down, relax, and take it easy. However, those people never met the ceaseless whirlwind known as Willie Nelson. The always-energized "outlaw" would scoff at that advice. He is just revving up at 92! May he have many more years of joy, singing, and happiness ahead!
