Rascal Flatts are returning to the ACM Awards, with one of the most famous boy bands of all time. The two acts will perform during the live ceremony next week, likely singing "What Hurts The Most." The song is from Rascal Flatts' Life Is A Highway: Refueled Duets album, out on June 6.

Ahead of the ACM Awards, Rascal Flatts released their new duet. It's fitting that the two will perform together, since it was the Backstreet Boys who inspired Rascal Flatts to release a new record.

"That kind of kicked things off. And then we had a little pause there for a little bit. We got back on the horse and finally rounded it out. So proud of this project. Grateful to be able to do it."
Rascal Flatts At The ACM Awards
Rascal Flatts are not only performing at the ACM Awards, but they are also nominated, for the first time since 2016. The trio, which also includes Gary LeVox and Jay DeMarcus, is nominated for Vocal Group of the Year.
"It really means the absolute world to us," LeVox says. "It felt so good to be nominated again. You miss what you don't have, so we were just so humbled and honored. You know, I think once you start being nominated a bunch and you start winning them all the time, that's really easy to get used to, you know? And it just goes to show that you miss what you don't have. And we are truly honored and humbled."
"It just became so normal for us to not be in there anymore, and it was a great way to wake up," adds DeMarcus, recalling finding out they were nominated. "It was a fantastic way to start the day. Some might think if you win it, you've won it, and that's past you, but it's very, very humbling to have those things continue to happen in your career."
The 2025 ACM Awards will take place at Ford Center at The Star in Frisco, Texas, on Thursday, May 8. The show will air exclusively on Amazon Prime at 8:00 PM ET.
