I enjoy watching the Eagles on YouTube singing their hits like "Lyin' Eyes" and "New Kid in Town." They were incredible. What fantastic songs they created and sang. How can anyone not love "Desperado" or "I Can't Tell You Why"? They made it look so easy but the work, effort, and thought the band put in must have been epic.

Speaking of epic, their feuds were huge too. Stories have surfaced about the internal battles that sometimes raged between these talented guys. I guess their emotions ran real high at times. As they became more famous, the pressure in them ramped up as well, which probably enhanced the tension. Band member Don Felder is dishing about his clashes with the other Eagles and what the situation is like today.
Don Felder Wrote A Book Published In 2007 That Told All About His Eagles Bandmates
Per American Songwriter, Felder got booted out of the Eagles in 2001. Then he penned a tell-all book that talked about Glenn Frey, Joe Walsh, and Don Henley. What that volume, Heaven and Hell: My Life in the Eagles, revealed reportedly wasn't pretty. However, when Felder was a guest on SiriusXM's Trunk Nation, he said that "he no longer carries a grudge against his ex-bandmates, and acts civil with them on the occasions that they meet," per the outlet.
He Said The Old Tensions And Grievances Have Eased A Lot Over Time
According to the outlet via Trunk Nation, Felder explained that, "There are times here and there along the way that we bump into each other, and [we're] very cordial about it. I really kind of buried all the hatchets, you know, in 2000."
He added, "One of the things about writing my book was a very cathartic process and was very liberating. It set me free to realize, I don't want to carry that stuff with me for the rest of my life. I don't want to have grudges and anger and hatred and all that stuff. I want to be free of that, so I decided that I can either be happy or I can, you know, lug that stuff around with me. So I decided I'm just gonna be happy."
Felder Sees His Departure From The Eagles As 'Liberating'
Felder views his exit from the Eagles in positive terms. "I could just do whatever I want. I want to tour, I can go tour...So it was a freeing, liberating thing for me to step outside of that organization."
At 77, Felder is a busy musician. He has an album, The Vault - Fifty Years of Music, dropping on May 23. In addition, he will be performing on his own in Florida and Arizona. Then he's with Kevin Cronin of REO Speedwagon and Styx late this month on The Brotherhood of Rock Tour.
