Dierks Bentley's oldest daughter, Evie, is 16 years old, and she is dating. Bentley is, perhaps surprisingly, not upset that she has reached the age where she can date, but rather how her dating negatively affects him.

"You know, the hard thing now is ... my daughter had this really nice boy over the house the other night," the 49-year-old shares with Taste of Country Nights. "They watched a movie upstairs, and it's like 11:30 p.m.. "I'm like, 'Dude, I'm ready to go to bed.'"
Bentley's reaction to having boys come see his daughter is the opposite of what he expected from himself.
"You know, I always thought I'd be the dad, on the porch with the shotgun, cleaning it off," Bentley admits.
"I kind of find myself being a little different," he adds. "You know, these kids are on their devices a lot, they're Snapchatting a lot. I'm more like, 'Okay, let's get the ball rolling here, you know. Let's get some action here.'"
Admittedly, how Evie and her two younger siblings live their lives is a lot different than when Bentley was growing up.
"I look back at what I was doing back then. I don't want them doing all that stuff, but I definitely want them to be living their lives," he explains. "The phone is such a time killer and a life killer, and I want them to be out there doing stuff, even if it means they're getting a little crazy."

Bentley shares Evie, her younger sister Jordan, and her younger brother Knox with his wife, Cassidy, whom he wed in 2005. With so much of their time devoted to their three children, Bentley hints he is planning something big later this year, for their 20th wedding anniversary.
"It's an amazing life we've built together and we need to do something big. ... It's been a great 20 years, and [Cassidy is] just really an incredible person," Bentley boasts to People.
"My kids are very busy with travel hockey and theater and all the stuff they do... and whatnot," Bentley continues. "But we are kind of a core unit and we've done a lot together. My wife and I really need our 20th to do some [sort] of adventure, something special together."
