Kacey Musgraves Is Celebrity Judge For NFL Team's Cheerleader Tryouts

Kacey Musgraves has had an amazing career as a country music icon. The 36-year-old superstar is a gifted singer and songwriter. She has won just about every top honor in the business, including Grammys, ACM and CMA awards, Billboard Music Awards, an iHeartRadio Music Award, and a GLAAD Media Vanguard Award. To those honors, Musgraves recently landed the National Music Publishers Association (NMPA) Songwriter Icon Award. All that is incredibly impressive. Now, however, Musgraves can also add another distinction - guest judge at the Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders auditions. Yep, she was invited to give her opinion of the women trying out for the storied squad.

It's chronicled in the Netflix documentary America's Sweethearts: Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders. The second season of the behind-the-scenes doc was just released. It begins airing today, June 18. The program reportedly isn't all about glitz and glamour. Among the serious issues that the squad members will be depicted grappling with are mental health, body image, and domestic violence, according to Tudum by Netflix.

The Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders (DCC) Revealed On Social Media Just Days Ago That Musgraves Would Be A Judge

Per mysanantonio.com, "The DCC announced the Golden Hour singer as this season's celebrity judge in a social media post on Saturday, June 14." DCC Director Kelli Finglass made her enthusiasm for the singing star clear in a video. "She's my musical therapist, my friend, a friend of the Dallas Cowboys—please welcome Miss Kacey Musgraves."

Finglass said even more about Musgraves to the outlet. "Kacey's been a longtime friend of the Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders—and of course, she's a fellow East Texas girl. We've had so much fun performing with her over the years, she honestly feels like part of our DCC family. Her energy is infectious and her style is just so fun, we knew she'd be the perfect surprise judge for this year's final audition."

She Showed Her Flair For Music Early In Life

Per the outlet via Billy Bob's, a concert site, the Texas native started crafting tunes by the time she was eight. Musgraves took to the stage as a 12-year-old youngster. At the moment, she is on the verge of a major tour that will take her to Colorado, Brazil, and Tennessee.
