Riley Green Sells Nashville Home To Get Farther Away From His Neighbors

Fame often comes at a price, and for Riley Green, it became more than he was willing to pay. The Alabama native reveals he is selling his Nashville home, and moving to a larger piece of land, one where he is even farther away from his neighbors.

For Green, his increasing celebrity status makes him living a normal life harder and harder.

"It's not my favorite part of the industry," Green admits to Country Countdown USA. "I miss being a regular guy. But it's a small price to pay for the opportunities I've gotten. I'm buying another place further out of town, and the neighbors are further away. I'm getting more land."

Green did find a way to be a little less recognizable, at least for a while, by shaving his mustache.

"I hurt a lot of people's feelings when I shaved my mustache off," Green admits. "What's nice is I can walk around and nobody notices me. Every guy goes through this, I ended up with a mustache, and it became a thing. I just wanted to get some sun, so I shaved it off. I guess I have to grow it back."

Riley Green's "Worst Way" Single

Green might soon need to add more security to his new home, if he keeps having hits at radio. Green currently has the No. 1 song in the country, for the second week in a row, with "Worst Way." The song's steamy video likely helped make the song a big hit, which isn't surprising. What is surprising is that Green's own mother is a big fan of the NSFW video.

"My mom has seen this for so long that she just enjoys it," Green says. "When we put the 'Worst Way' video out, she'll send me screenshots of some of the craziest comments. And she said that she had to tell Dad the other day when they went to church, to not bring up the video to anybody because he's so excited to talk to people about it because it was doing so well.

"And they were at some big banquet at the college I went to," he continues. "The president's wife pulled it up and put it up on a big screen. So she enjoys it. But she knows how to kind of sift through the rumors and she'll just go straight to the source if she has any real questions."
