Luke Combs Opens up on Miller Lite’s 50th Birthday, New Music, and His Golfing Videos (Exclusive)

Luke Combs has opened up to us about the Coast-To-Coast Miller Lite celebration, his upcoming music, and more.

Wide Open Country recently conducted a Q&A with the mighty Luke Combs, who is celebrating Miller Lite's 50th anniversary.

Luke Combs has been partnered with Miller Lite since 2022. They're currently celebrating 50 years by giving away 50,000 beers. Although he's been very open that it's his favorite beer, I tried to see what other beverages he enjoys—to little success.

I asked Luke Combs about his upcoming music, his ACM International Award, his collaboration with Miller Lite, and, of course, his golfing videos.

Let's get the obligatory "any upcoming plans for new music?" question out of the way nice and early. So, any upcoming plans for new music?

Combs: I'm used to getting that question right off the bat. It doesn't bother me. I like new music just as much as the next person. Trust me when I say I'm just as excited. "Back in the Saddle" will be out Friday, July 25. That's a song I'm really pumped about. And my next album is something I'm definitely actively working on and have been into the studio quite a bit, so while there's only one song coming out this month, there's a lot more where that came from, and I can't wait for everyone to hear.

You've been collaborating with artists frequently recently. Are there any artists out there you'd love to work with again or for the first time?

Combs: Actually, there was an artist I had on my list and we actually recorded a song not too long ago... It's a first for me, but I'm excited for fans to hear it.

You will soon be honored with the ACM International Award for your global influence. Is this an honor you'd ever thought would come your way?

Combs: Not in a million years. When I started out, I was just a guy from North Carolina writing songs about real life. That's still who I am, but back then my only aspiration was to make enough money where I could do music for a living - enough to support myself and family. But now to see that resonate not just across the U.S., but around the world—it blows me away. This award isn't just for me, it's for the fans everywhere who've embraced country music in their own way. I'm glad that country music is going worldwide.

You've been partnered with Miller Lite for some years now. Have you ever considered launching your own brand of beer?

Combs: Whether I'm at the house, hanging with buddies, or playing a show, Miller Lite is what I'm drinking. I think most everyone knows how big of a Miller Lite fan I am. Always have been. So when they asked me to help kick off the 50th anniversary celebration by giving away 50,000 beers coast-to-coast, it was a no-brainer. Miller Lite has stood the test of time. It's the same great-tasting beer it's always been. If I ever did my own, it'd have to live up to that standard. And I have a lot of other things taking up my time, so for now, I'm sticking with what I consider to be the best.

Now this will be a super controversial question, I'm sure, but aside from Miller Lite, what other beers do you enjoy?

Combs: Woah, now y'all trying to get me in trouble! But for real though, I'll always reach for a Miller Lite first.

Finally, I've got to ask. Will we be seeing any more golfing videos? They're brilliant (and don't let the haters get you down, king).

Combs: Yeah, I'm sure there'll be more. I love getting out there - even if my swing's a little...let's call it "unconventional." But hey, I'm out there to have fun, not win the Masters. Maybe Miller Lite will even hit me up for a golf collab - feel like that would be fun!

And that's it! I'd like to thank Luke Combs for giving me the time for this Q&A.
