They have endured several painful deaths recently of individuals close to them. Per Taste of Country, their loyal fans have stood with them in solidarity and affection. In November, Duane Allen said, "We're hanging on and our friends have really supported us. They've stood up with us, and our friends have called us and our fans have stood by us."

Allen posted about Seely on Facebook with these heartbreakingly moving words. "The last date I had with my Norah Lee was with Jeannie Seely & [her husband] Gene Ward. A double date with best friends. They are all gone but me. Jeannie hosted the segment on the OPRY when we were invited to become members. My heart is broken tonight. I loved her."

The Band Has Had Numerous People Close to Them Pass Away

A little more than one year ago, Joe Bonsall passed away. He was a member of the band "for decades." He "died from complications of ALS." Also, Seely's spouse, Gene Ward, died, band member Richard Sterban lost his father-in-law, and Allen's wife of many years passed away. All this happened in a short span of time. So even before Seely's tragic death, the Oak Ridge Boys were understandably grieving.

Fans Left Messages of Comfort for Them on Social Media

Many people reached out to the band on

Facebook to express their sadness and compassion.

"Seely got her wings and she is singing to the angels"

"Although I never had the pleasure of knowing Jeannie Seely, she seemed like she'd be impossible not to like. She made great music, and we share the same name, Jeannie. Lean on your faith, Duane, and keep those wonderful memories close. Please take care...."

:"Duane Allen, I am so sorry for your great loss. I listened to Jeannie on [SiriusXM} when she was on Willie's Roadhouse. She was fun to listen [to] and I liked her singing also. My prayers are with you and her family and friends."
