Luke Bryan is unpredictable on stage. Sure, you'll always get great shows from him. But his giddy antics don't always come across the way he intends with some fans. Still, Bryan wants to stay exactly who he is, no compromises. During a recent appearance on Katie & Company, Bryan talked candidly about his desire to remain himself. He loves joking, joshing, and horsing around as a performer. Per Whiskey Riff, he said he chooses not to put a lid on it.

Bryan Does Not Want To Hold Back When He Performs
Per the outlet via Katie & Company, he said, "You know, I think... I don't wanna be so guarded. I think that's what the hurdle in society this day is. When you go into comedy, comedians have to go for the big joke. So sometimes if I'm having fun up there, I want to go for the big joke.
Bryan added, "And if you do that, there's a percentage that, they're not always gonna land like you want them. But I think you gotta trust your fans. Your fans gotta know you got a good heart under there, and you don't twist it around too much."
He Realizes That Fans Can Sometimes Misinterpret His Joking
When he and Blake Shelton rib each other, for example, it's all in fun. Still, there are some people who wrongly assume it's for real. Bryan was doing a concert near Boston recently and teased that former legendary NFL QB Tom Brady was in the house. He wasn't.
Bryan understands that his humor in instances like those is open to being misread. Despite that, he plans to stay true to himself and be the rollicking guy folks expect. He looks for the joy, not the gripes. As he said, "There's real beefs that go on, but I don't have time for beefs. I just wanna grill the beef."
Being Funny Is Part of Who He Is on Stage
Bryan explained, "The thing is, when you're in a 20,000 seat amphitheater, your jokes can't... the jokes really aren't gonna work. The people wanna hear the music, and maybe you can fire them up with something funny, or if a fan does something funny."
He went on, "But you know, it may be fun, I've always thought, a real stripped down version in Vegas one day where I just walk out with a guitar and a piano. Don't have 8,000 people in the room, keep it real intimate, real cool."
