So you think the acting profession is a glam fest, right? Um, not always. Ask Taylor Kitsch. He played Tim Riggins on the beloved series Friday Night Lights, which aired on NBC from 2006 to 2011. It focused on the small, fictional Texas town of Dillon, where high school football was king. Exceptional acting and writing buoyed the drama, but it ultimately vanished too soon. With a reboot reportedly in the pipeline, some of the stars from the original show have been chatting about it. What Kitsch had to say is intriguing, at the very least.

Per Whiskey Riff, it looks like Kitsch will not be coming back in FNL 2.0 to recreate his role. Still, he had plenty to say about the first incarnation of the show, especially what was supposedly the Riggins homestead. First though, he had kudos for how the drama was filmed.
It Sounds Like an Actor's Dream
Kitsch said, "Peter (Berg) [he co-executive produced] set a real great example for the crew and cast to be free and take ownership of your character. And the precedent he sets with improv and lack of rehearsals to keep things alive, and natural lighting. You go to set, no rehearsals. You've got three roaming cameras at all times, and you're in the Riggins house."
But that house itself, well, that was an actor's nightmare. He added, "No joke, we've had to like cut half a day because they had to smoke it out because of bugs. It was legit disgusting in there, and people were getting sick. It's the true Riggins house, and the freedom to be like... I love a prop, I love an activity while I'm working, and obviously Riggins is drinking 24/7... we had no policing."
Freewheeling and fun! Except, of course, for the pesky insects.
