"I am heartbroken to share that my stepdad passed away earlier this week," Corbin shares on social media. "He was an important part of my life, and I need to take a few days to be with my family as we lay him to rest. Because of this, I will be unable to perform my upcoming shows on August 29 and August 30.
"I know I've had to cancel several shows recently, and I want to be transparent that this has been an incredibly tough season personally and professionally," the singer continues. "I don't take lightly the impact this has on my fans, my team, and the venues, and I truly appreciate your patience and understanding. Thank you all for the love, prayers, and support during this time. I look forward to getting back on the road and seeing you soon."
Easton Corbin Cancels Shows Due To Vocal Troubles
The news comes shortly after Easton Corbin returned to touring, following a prolonged break to deal with vocal troubles. Corbin, who spends much of the year on the road, announced in July that his doctors suggested he give his voice a rest.
"I wanted to share a quick note with you personally—I've been advised to take some time off for vocal rest," he wrote last month. "And as a result, we're going to have to cancel the next few weeks of shows through August 9. This definitely wasn't an easy decision. I hate to disappoint anyone who was planning to come out, and I truly appreciate all the support you continue to show me and the band.
"Taking care of my voice is the best way I can make sure we keep doing this for the long haul," he adds. "We're working on plans to reschedule as many of the shows as we can, and I'll keep you posted as soon as we have more information. In the meantime, thank you for your understanding and for sticking with me—I can't wait to get back out there real soon."
