Bunnie Xo Says She Broke Her Sobriety—Cautions Others Not to "Ever Do Anything I Do"

Bunnie Xo, Jelly Roll's wife, is known for her candor about herself. She does not pull any punches. So when she recently opened up about breaking her sobriety while on vacation in Rome, she was typically frank. Per Parade, "Bunnie Xo "recently broke her sobriety after seven years so she could enjoy a drink while on vacation in Rome with her country superstar husband." In late August, she put that information on her Instagram.

Then Bunnie Xo added more detail on the subject. "Before anyone can say another 'I thought you were sober' comment. Yes I'm sober, I stopped drinking in 2018 bc my mental health couldn't handle the hangovers the next day. But if I want to let my hair down w/ my husband and have a drink in Rome- I will [heart emoji] BEST NIGHT EVERRRRRRR."

She Cautioned People Not to Follow Her Example

Bunnie Xo wants to be sure that others who are dealing with alcohol issues don't "ever do anything I do." "Just because I can have a drink doesn't mean that I fell off the wagon and I'm going to be drinking every night again. Whereas someone who is really battling that demon can see me drinking and be like, 'Oh well if she did it, I did it,' and completely wreck their sobriety. Please don't do that."

Bunnie Xo Claims That Jelly Roll Suggested She Have a Drink

She discussed this on her Dumb Blonde podcast, this time disclosing that Jelly Roll reportedly wanted them to have some drinks. She evidently went along with it. "So I was like, you know what, 'We're in Rome, I'm going to drink with you. I'll have some wine." She quaffed Pinot Grigio with him at a secluded bar that Jelly Roll discovered.

Alcohol, she noted, was not chief among her "vices." "A lot of people think that I was an alcoholic in my former life, and that wasn't my drug of choice. My drug of choice was cocaine and xanax; those were my vices. Alcohol was just always prevalent because I grew up in Vegas."

Bunnie Xo continued, "I never had a problem with alcohol. Everybody has their own idea of what sobriety is, and I respect that. Everybody's perspective is different. I got sober because of my health, my mental health, and because I didn't want drugs and I didn't want alcohol in my body anymore."
