What Happened to Holly Hatcher?
As we reported last month, Hatcher's mom, Holly, was stabbed, allegedly by Kevin Moses Walker. The incident occurred in Harrisonburg, Virginia, on Aug. 3.
A law enforcement official stated that the crime was "apparently completely random" and "highly unusual." Her husband, Michael, was hurt in the attack.
At that time, Hatcher issued a statement saying he would cancel three upcoming shows.
"I hope to make these dates up to my fans in the future," he wrote. "I appreciate everyone that has lent their support to me and my loved ones."
Spencer Hatcher Once Again Thanked Fans
In Hatcher's new video, he is sitting in a rocking chair on what appears to be a front porch. He began by thanking his fans for their support.
"I just wanted to take a moment to say thank you for all the love and support that you all have shown me and my family over the last month in what has really been the worst time of our life," said Hatcher.
"You all sent so many loving comments and messages and made posts and everything. We did our best to read them, but I just want you all to know how appreciative we are, and I am of you all."
Hatcher's Biggest Fan Was His Mom
The singer continued by talking about his mother, who was his biggest cheerleader.
"You know my mom was my biggest fan, and my biggest supporter in everything that I did," he said. "But she was also ... she loved the music, everything about it. She loved the music. She loved the shows. And after a lot of thought and prayer and speaking to my label about continuing on, you know, I made the decision that I 100 percent want to continue making music and bringing smiles to people's faces and being out on the stage and everything."
Hatcher Isn't Letting This Incident Stop Him
Spencer continued: "But I'm doing it a lot because I know that is what my mom would want me to do. She would want me to keep on, and I know how much she loved it, and I know how much y'all love it.
"So, I'm not going to quit. I'm going to keep on going. I'm going to go as hard as I possibly can, like I always have. I want you all to come along on this journey with me. As I get back into it, you know, I'm going to be posting a bunch more, but I just appreciate you all and all that you have done for me and will continue to do for me.
Spencer continued to say that before the tragedy, he had a busy schedule ahead of him. He assured fans that everything would proceed as planned.
"I'm real excited for it," he said. "You know, like I said, I know that my mom was real excited about all the opportunities, and all the music, and I hope that you all are just as excited about it as she was. So, again, thank you all so much for everything. Thank you for your support in the future, and I hope that one day we can all be together where I can thank you personally.
"I love y'all. God bless."
