Shooter Jennings and Lukas Nelson have country music in their blood. They are the sons of the late Waylon Jennings and Willie Nelson, respectively. With dads who qualify as country royalty, it's not surprising that Shooter, 46, and Lukas, 36, are making their own way in the music industry.

Wouldn't a Nelson - Jennings singing collab be great? It's not completely outside the realm of possibility down the road. According to Nelson, though, it seems kind of unlikely at present. They already have a solid connection. Nelson's LP, American Romance, which dropped a few months ago, was produced by Jennings, per cleveland.com.
Nelson Spoke Highly of Jennings
He said, "We grew up together. Shooter is just an amazing human being, an amazing friend. Shooter is also a brilliant producer; he's produced some of my favorite works, so he's really knowledgeable, especially with the type of music I love and I'm into."
Nelson added, "When he reached out and said he wanted to be part of this — in a letter he wrote me — it all seemed like it couldn`t have been more perfect. I was really excited when he reached out, and, man, I feel like he did a great job of capturing exactly what we needed to."
Nelson Was Non-Committal About a Future Shooter - Lukas Singing Collab
Nelson speculates that Jennings will stay in his current lane as a producer. He shared this insight about his buddy. "Shooter is very much a producer; he loves producing his friends' music, and people he believes in. I think that's where he feels the most at home, in his production. So this is how Lukas and Shooter collaborate. We have sung together; we might do an album together one time where we sing together. But I really think he loves his role as a producer most, and he's damn good at it."
He Has Plenty of Exciting Projects in the Pipeline
Nelson is busy these days. He told the outlet that he has "a movie project" he has penned songs for with Ernest. He also teased this. "And I'm planning on recording another album coming up pretty soon; I'm writing for that now, 'cause I can't stop the songs from coming." Nelson added tantalizingly, "I can just tell you there's a lot of music, and some fun stuff on the horizon."
