Post Malone's presence is becoming a recurring theme on WWE programming. The Country superstar was present for the company's "Clash In Paris" event earlier this year, and was ringside during "Saturday Night's Main Event" in Utah on Nov. 2.
During that WWE Premium Live Event, CM Punk overcame Jey Uso to win the World Heavyweight Championship. Punk previously won the belt at SummerSlam only to lose it seconds later when Seth Rollins cashed in his "Money In The Bank" briefcase. Therefore, this is the first legitimate title reign Punk has had since returning to the company. It's his seventh WWE belt overall.
On Tuesday, Nov. 4, Post Malone took to X to share some images from after WWE's event. In the caption, he labelled CM Punk as a heel (wrestling talk for the bad guy).
"Punks heel turn, and Doms goin face!," Malone wrote in the caption. "...What a badass night here in beautiful Utah. Thank y'all so much for havin us. I love you."
CM Punk Is One of WWE's Biggest Babyfaces
In professional wrestling, the opposite of a heel is a babyface, and you guessed it, that means they're a "good guy" within the current storylines. Interestingly, Dominik Mysterio is a heel, yet Malone referred to him as a "face."
Malone could simply be referencing what's happening in the images he shared. However, he could also have suffered a Freudian slip, especially if he's been privy to some of WWE's future planning. After all, the company is well-known for working with stars from outside the industry. It wasn't too long ago that Jelly Roll partnered with Randy Orton in Paris.
Of course, Malone's caption could also have been alluding to the fact that Punk beat Uso, who is one of the biggest favorites among the crowd and the younger section of the WWE fanbase.
We Haven't Seen the Last of Post Malone in the WWE
When outside stars show genuine love for the WWE, they often lean on them as recurring guests, especially during Premium Live Events. Stars don't come much bigger or brighter than Post Malone.
As such, it's fair to assume that Malone will be back on WWE television, as either a fan or with a role to play, in the near future. Maybe then, we will get some clarity on what Malone's social media post meant, or if we're simply reading too much into it.
