It's not easy for two legends to be a married couple under one roof. Each has a hectic schedule and presumably a fairly big ego. They may also have competing priorities. Yet it's clearly possible to make it work long-term. Tim McGraw and Faith Hill certainly have for almost thirty years. Trisha Yearwood, 61, and Garth Brooks, 63, are going strong, too. In fact, their 20th wedding anniversary is coming up next month on December 10. These two major icons of the country music genre definitely seem happier than ever. Each was married before (him once, her twice), but they have found the right formula to connect with each other. What is their secret?

Yearwood Described What She Prioritizes
Per People, the "Walkaway Joe" singer talked freely bout her marriage to Brooks on November 8 at an occason in her honor in New York. It was In Her Own Words: An Evening with Trisha Yearwood. She said she found herself in two new roles. Yearwood was a wife to Brooks and stepmom (she calls it "bonus mom") to his three girls from his previous marriage to Sandy Mahl.
"When I married Garth and I moved to Oklahoma, I stopped. I wasn't touring 200 days a year anymore. I was a bonus mom to three children and I was trying to make a marriage work, because I had learned that marriages don't work if you're never together."
She willingly put aside the celeb life and pivoted to a more everyday domestic one. Yearwood said, "That's kind of important. You have to be together. I made a conscious effort to be there, to go to soccer games and cook dinner."
The Two Have Successfully Collaborated
According to People, they co-wrote a track titled "For the Last Time" that appeared on Yearwood's LP, Let's Be Frank. They also did an extensive global tour. Perhaps most movingly, they sang John Lennon's classic ballad, "Imagine," at the funerals of President Jimmy Carter and his wife, First Lady Rosalynn Carter.
She Just Dropped a Seasonal Album Featuring a Very Special Song
Yearwood's new album, Christmastime, came out days ago. She shared this sweet information about it. "I had a short list of things that I was like, 'If I ever make another Christmas record, I want to do that.' And the first song you just heard ["Christmas Time Is Here"] was the first song on that list because A Charlie Brown Christmas is my absolute favorite [album]. And I haven't heard a ton of people record that song."
She added, "I actually walked down the aisle [to] that song because we married in December. So that was my [wedding entrance song]."
