John Rich Takes Aim at Taylor Swift on Social Media

.John Rich, who has rarely shied away from sharing his opinions on social media, recently made a joke at the expense of Taylor Swift.

There must have been a time when John Rich and Taylor Swift had been friends, or at least gotten along.

The duo had collaborated on the hit "The Way I Loved You" from her 2008 album Fearless. But if Rich liked her then, he certainly feels differently about her now.

What Did John Rich Say About Taylor Swift?

Rich, who is one-half of the duo Big & Rich, responded on Friday, Nov. 7, to a post asking users to share the name of a singer they believe is better than Taylor Swift.

The artist wrote in a quote tweet, "I'll start: @therealroseanne."

Rich was referring to Roseanne Barr. He was likely referencing the moment when the Emmy Award-winning comedian performed "The Star-Spangled Banner" before a baseball game between the San Diego Padres and Cincinnati Reds.

The performance drew considerable controversy at the time for not only being off-key, but for Barr then spitting and grabbing her crotch.

Why Would Rich Dunk on Swift?

Rich has been outspoken about his political beliefs. In addition to being a strong supporter of President Donald Trump, he was among the first to criticize Zach Bryan for his song "Bad News."

Last year, during the presidential election, Rich said that he "can't wait for Taylor Swift to tell me how to vote" before she eventually endorsed Kamala Harris.

Barr has been vocal in her support for Trump in the past, which may explain why Rich made the crack about Swift.

Rich also isn't a big fan of Swift's fiancé, Travis Kelce.

Early last year, Rich, who is a vaccine skeptic, asked his over a million followers on X the following about the Kansas City Chiefs tight end:

"Are you sick of Travis Kelce telling you to get the experimental jab every time you turn on the TV?"

Then, after Kelce's teammate, kicker Harrison Butker, endorsed Trump for president, Rich shared the following:

"In a world full of Travis Kelce's, be a Harrison Butker."

According to NewsweekSwift hasn't responded to Rich's tweet at press time. Considering she's been planning her wedding with Kelce and working on a documentary for Disney+, she probably doesn't have the time.
