At least Guy Fieri's two sons and nephew can pitch in to help cook for Thanksgiving. That is one saving grace right now. The flamboyant Food Network star is unfortunately sidelined with a severe leg injury. Per E! News, Fieri fell down some stairs, tearing his quad muscle. He was filming a series called Flavor Town Food Fight at the time. It sounds more like an injury a football player would sustain rather than one suffered by the fun, freewheeling host of Guy's Grocery Games.

Fieru Described How He Hurt Himself
Per the outlet via Fox News Digital, Guy Fieri, 57, said, "[I] slipped down a set of steps and one foot went forward and the other foot got caught on the threshold. So, you know, it extended me out. I looked like I was probably doing the splits, but when my right leg compressed into itself the giveaway point and the doctor said he's never seen—you know, in 20 years—he hasn't seen a tear in the biggest, thickest part of your quad in half."
Fieri continued, "You normally tear that muscle at your tendon or the tendon tears off the bone, but this was right in the center of the whole quad muscle and it explode[d]."
What Happens to Fieri's New Show Now?
In the best tradition of the entertainment business, the show must go on. Fieri talked about how the crew will work around his absence. He reportedly uses a wheelchair and crutches at the moment, but he has to stay off the leg for two months. Then comes rehab.
He said, "We've got everybody in town and all the chefs there and 125 people on set and everybody's ready to go, and I'm in surgery. So, we figured out how to pivot through it and to have some creative filming techniques. But it's been a run, and now I'm up here at the ranch, where it's always about hiking and outdoors, and you know, beautiful."
He's Eager To Get Back on His Feet
In the meantime, Fieri intends to do everything he can to get back to normal quickly. But he knows he has a long road ahead. "I want to get after it as fast as possible. He's like, 'You know as much as you want to, get back to being Guy, you're going to really have to go through [it].'"
Fieri never had an injury like this one. That's not to say he never hurt himself before this. "...I mean I broke it all as a kid. I broke my leg,..broke my wrist, broke my sternum, my ribs, my tailbone...name it, I broke it. But I got done doing that [expletive]. You know, I got done with that type of behavior long ago."
His Sons and Nephew Can Cook
Per the outlet via Fox Digital News, Fieri mentioned, "It was funny, my son, Ryder, [who is 19], texted me from school and he said, 'Well, I guess all the training you've given me and all the cooking I've been doing while I was at school, it was going to be my time to shine.' And I said, 'I am so happy you're asking me about this versus me telling you, you have to do it."
He shared, "So, I got my three boys, Hunter, Ryder and Jules, and they all know how to cook. And now it's gonna be me quarterbacking from the wheelchair and telling them what to do. And we cook for about 40 people up here. So it's going to be, it's got to be an adventure."
