His wife, Annie, 69, whom he wed in 1991, attests to the fact that Nelson seemingly has limitless youthful energy. Per The New Yorker, Annie humorously said that her husband is "Benjamin Buttoning" her. (The Curious Case Of Benjamin Button is a fantasy short story by F. Scott Fitzgerald about someone who gets younger with time, not older.)

Nelson Seems To Possess Remarkable Drive

Nelson is still vigorously exercising and performing. In fact, his daughter, Amy, said of her dad's singing, "I think it's literally keeping him alive." The outlet points out that Nelson has endured health challenges like COVID and emphysema, but overall, he always battles back. According to People via The New Yorker, Annie Nelson said, "He just keeps going and going."

She and Nelson have two sons, Micah and Lukas. Nelson is also the dad of five daughters.

He Maintains a Vibrant Outlook

Nelson does not apparently dwell on his age. Per the outlet via the Associated Press, Nelson shared a little more than a year ago, "I feel like I'm in pretty good shape physically. I'm 91 plus, so, you know, I'm not worried about it. I don't feel bad. I don't hurt anywhere. I don't have any reason to worry about dying."

Willie Nelson Is a Candidate for a 2026 Grammy, Along With Two of His Sons

He's clearly not giving up the mic or the performing stage anytime soon. Nelson is a 2026 Grammy nominee in the Best Traditional Country Album category for his LP, Oh What A Beautiful World. His son, Lukas Nelson, is also contending in that category with his album, American Romance. As if that were not enough potential Grammy opportunities for the Nelson family, Micah Nelson is also nominated for producing Willie Nelson's LP, Last Leaf On The Tree. It is in the Best Americana Album category.

What a talented, hard-working country music family!
