Things got emotional for the American Idol judge the other day. Not only did she get to return to the stage where it all started for her, but the singer got a surprise emotional reunion with one of her favorite groups.

'American Idol' Judge Carrie Underwood Gets A Surprise
The American Idol stage is where it all started for Carrie Underwood. Now, she is back on that stage but on the other side of things, as a judge. While just returning to the show was tear-jerking enough for the singer, she also got the surprise of a lifetime the other day.
During Sunday night's (March 16) episode, she got to relieve one of her favorite Idol memories. Back in 2012, Underwood got the chance to meet the PS22 Chorus. This chorus is a Webby-winning children's chorus based out of a Staten Island, New York City public elementary school.
Taste of Country shares that back in 2012, Underwood visited the chorus at their school "and they sang her songs "Good Girl" and "So Small" together." Well, all these years later they decided to have an emotional reunion. While the music director was the same, the kids that were surprising the American Idol judge this time were new.
In fact, they hadn't even been born yet when Underwood visited the choir last time. Clearly demonstrating what a profound impact her music has had since it has been passed down to many generations.
An Emotional Reunion For Carrie Underwood

Once again they perform her song, "So Small." Also, just like all those years ago, Underwood joins them in the singing of the chorus.
At one point, Underwood is so moved that she begins to tear up. "Oh my gosh," she states, "This is so beautiful." The children are visibly excited not only by her presence but by her joyous reaction to them and their singing.
Then, facing the children the star says, "Thank you. You guys just gave me the biggest gift." What a lovely surprise and beautiful emotional reunion for American Idol judge, Carrie Underwood.
