Billy Bob Thornton Shares Slightly Concerning Sign About 'Landman' Season 2 That's Giving Me 'Yellowstone' Flashbacks

It's hard to question Taylor Sheridan too much at this point. His work in film is pretty strong; Sicario and Hell or High Water stand out as some of the better action outings of the 2010s. Moreover, he's got a lot of pots cooking at once with the television. The Yellowstone universe might last forever with the prequels and spinoffs at work. The Tulsa King and Mayor of Kingstown are hits in their own rights. Now, Sheridan's most recent home run is Landman with Billy Bob Thornton.

The show's season 1 finale just wrapped up earlier in this January year. However, in the Yellowstone creator's typical fashion, he's already filming the next season. You might think: Wow, that's really soon to start another season of a TV show. You would be right! But here's the thing: Taylor Sheridan is insane and doesn't sleep. This is actually well documented by Tim McGraw, apparently, he sacrifices sleep to keep writing his many shows. Consequently, you have a situation where Billy Bob Thornton might be filming a show without a completed script.

Billy Bob Thornton Reveals That He's Only Seen Half of the Landman Season 2 Script

Recently, Thornton spoke with Gold Derby to promote the upcoming second season of Landman. Production only recently began, but Sheridan was eager to get to work. So much so, the actor has only seen half of the script so far. "Last year, we had every episode when we started. We do not this year. We've only seen about half of it," Billy Bob reveals.

"I can tell you this much. I'm loving this season, the relationships are really growing and gelling, not only as actors, but with the characters. The first season of anything, you're explaining everything to everybody, and the trick to writing things like that is to not make it seem like exposition, and I thought Taylor did a wonderful job of that in Season 1," Billy Bob Thornton continues.

Thornton does clean it up to alleviate any concerns about an obviously insane thing to reveal. Even though the show technically isn't even done, he says that it's been pretty seamless to jump right back into his character. "But now, people know who we are, so we don't have to set anything up anymore. We just dove right into it and we were these people again," Billy Bob Thornton says. "This season, I'm actually gonna have a pillowcase on my head the entire season. Yeah, even when I'm eating, even at home, and it's so exciting!"
