Billy Bob Thornton Wants Faith Hill and Tim McGraw on 'Landman'

Billy Bob Thornton said that Tim McGraw and his wife Faith Hill would be great additions to the cast of 'Landman'.

Many great actors support Billy Bob Thornton in the second season of Landman. The Taylor Sheridan drama about the West Texas oil boom also features Demi Moore, Andy Garcia, Sam Elliott, and Ali Larter.

"I've been in this business for 56 years, I think," said Elliott last month. "And to have an opportunity like this after that much time is pretty special."

But Thornton thinks a couple more additions to the cast would be a great idea for the show's third season. A reporter for Entertainment Tonight recently threw the names of a famous country music couple into the mix during an interview on the red carpet of the 2025 CMA Awards, and the Sling Blade star was all for it.

Could Faith Hill and Tim McGraw Join the "Landman" Cast?

Having Faith Hill and Tim McGraw join the cast of Landman isn't outside the realm of possibility.

McGraw and Thornton acted together in the 2004 high school football classic, Friday Night Lights. McGraw and Hill also worked with Sheridan in 1883, a Yellowstone prequel. Thornton briefly appeared as Marshal Jim Courtright on the show.

Sadly, casting Hill and McGraw isn't up to Thornton.

"Well, that would be awesome if they do," he said. "But you know, Taylor Sheridan, he kind of picks and chooses whatever he wants for the show."

Thornton said he would at least talk to Sheridan about adding the couple to the call sheet.

"We don't have a lot of clout in terms of that," he said. "But maybe we'll bring their names up and see what happens."

Actors Love Working With Taylor Sheridan

While Sheridan has been accused of writing some stereotypical characters, such as Larter's Angela Norris on Landman, the actress has said that the writer is a genius.

"It's incredible how Taylor made oil fascinating, and the landscape," she said. "You would never know that — this is why he's such a genius — you would never know on paper that this show would be so riveting or so many people would love it, different generations of people who live in different places. That they find a connection to it, I think, is super fascinating."

If Hill and McGraw do join the cast, it will be fascinating to see what they bring to the show.
