Inspiration can come from some crazy places. Sometimes, it's organic, a creative reflection to the environment. Other times, it involves looking inwards, to some of the less rosier moments and making a point of it. Ultimately, it comes from living life, positive or negative. The negative experiences can drive artists like Boy George to succeed and spite those who doubted. More specifically to the Culture Club artist, bullying informed how he led in his career.

Recently, Boy George spoke to The Times, reflecting on the tribulation that dictated so much of his life. At the end of the day, he would either walk on or get stepped over in the pro. "There comes a time where you either just shrink away or you embrace being different," he says.
Boy George Takes Life in His Own Hands Despite Bullying and Prospers
"When you're a gay kid, other kids make you aware that you're different. You get picked on and you don't know why. Then one summer holiday it just clicked: I would go with it," he continues.
Consequently, he went to school looking especially different from his peers. Sometimes, the stares made him especially anxious, especially as fame increased. However, after a while, George found that getting out of his own head was much more liberating. Living in his truth and not worrying about what other people think allows him to live a much more free and fulfilling life every day.
"It doesn't bother me any more, but in the old days I would get incredibly anxious about being recognized, people staring at me, taking my photograph without asking and for many years I made being who I am into a nightmare," George recalls. "Why? Because someone doesn't think you're pretty enough? Once you learn to get over yourself it's a revelation."
