Carly Pearce Dishes About Ex Husband Michael Ray and Tyler Tritt: "I Don't Wish Him Evil"

Sometimes you feel like you need a scorecard to keep track of who is dating who and broken up with who in Celebrityland. For example, country music star Carly Pearce, 35, recently was a guest on the Dumb Blonde podcast hosted by Bunnie Xo (Mrs. Jelly Roll), per Whiskey Riff. The gals talked about Pearce's brief marriage to Michael Ray and its end. Pearce also discussed Ray's reported involvement with Tyler Tritt, daughter of renowned country artist Travis Tritt. She was very frank about her not -too-fond feelings toward both of them.

Pearce Knew Fast That She Erred by Marrying Ray

Per the outlet, "...{S]he went through a very public divorce from fellow country singer Michael Ray in 2020, after being married for less than a year." Pearce's LP, 29: Written in Stone, was seemingly a byproduct of her unhappy union with Ray and a depiction of the subsequent heartache it caused her.

Following their breakup, Ray and Pearce each apparently went out with new people. He was seen with Tritt very shortly after his marriage to Pearce was dissolved. That gave rise to chatter swirling that maybe Ray was stepping out on Pearce while the two were still husband and wife, per the outlet.

Pearce said this to Bunnie Xo about her marriage. "It wasn't what I signed up for. It just wasn't the marriage that I know I deserve. I knew that very quickly. And I think in the first, we were only married for 8 months, plenty happened to where it was very clear to me that this just wasn't a marriage."

She Landed on Her Feet

Pearce seems to feel that the marital turmoil of the past made her stronger. "The album '29' wasn't written out of thin air. I am in the happiest season of my life. If he ever watches this, thank you. Because you taught me more about myself, you taught me how strong I am, put me through things that have made me better now. I don't wish him evil. I'm so glad that I'm not in that anymore. I think that I was really shown just how much I care about me, you know?"

She added, "I actually really have a lot of self-worth, and that showed me that. People have a lot of opinions, and that at first was so hard for me. Because I was like, 'That's not true, that's not true, that's not true. What he's saying is not true.' But at the end of the day, my friends who walked that with me, they know. My parent know[s[, and God knows, and that is enough."

Pearce Looked Directly at Tyler Tritt When She Sang "Jolene"

The singer appeared on the Opry 100: A Live Celebration this year. Pearce sang the Dolly Parton-written "Jolene," which is about a woman imploring a temptress not to steal her man. Pearce seemed to stare at Tyler Tritt at that exact moment as if to say she was singing that song to Tritt for a reason. On

She told Bunnie Xo, "Let's just say I'm not a fan of her. I'm not a fan of him. I could have done so much more than I did."

Pearce went on to add, ""I think to your point, I shut my mouth for so long... But truthfully, I shut my mouth for so long because I felt like I had to. And I'm not here to blow anybody up, or I don't care anymore. But yeah, I mean, when you're faced with somebody that was a really dark season for you, also you go, 'I don't know if he told her we were divorced.' I don't know, I don't know. That was not a fun situation for me...."
