Carrie Underwood will perform at Donald Trump's inauguration. Some of her fans are not happy about it, however. After threatens of boycotts and outcry, the superstar singer has broken her silence on the issue.

The nation is polarized over Donald Trump. Any show of support or denouncement will receive a bombardment of flack from the opposing side. Underwood is no exception, as her left-leaning fans were greatly disappointed that the singer would support Trump's inauguration.

However, she made a statement to USA Today, where she expressed how honored she felt. "I love our country and am honored to have been asked to sing at the Inauguration and to be a small part of this historic event," she said. "I am humbled to answer the call at a time when we must all come together in the spirit of unity and looking to the future."

Underwood has always been politically neutral, and her statement reflects this. According to her statement, her performance at Trump's inauguration isn't necessarily a show of support for the president-elect. At the very least, it's a show of unity for the nation she lives in.

Celebrities and famous figures have shared similar sentiments. They say that whether you support Trump or not, he will be the president, so it's time for all Americans to band together and get through the next term as a team. Chris Pratt made such a statement of unity, although he got slammed pretty hard for it.

Fans Want To Boycott Carrie Underwood For Performing At Trump's Inauguration

According to the program for the inauguration, Carrie Underwood is set to perform "America The Beautiful." Both the Armed Forces Chorus and the United States Naval Academy Glee Club will join her in song.

This has sparked outrage among her fans who don't support Trump. Many fans now vow to never listen to her music again, and many others are disappointed.

"Shame on Carrie Underwood. She has been removed from my playlists. Is it so hard to stand up with moral principles? Money is truly the root of all evil," writes one to the agreement of many others.

Anyone who gets close to Trump will be considered by the internet a Trump supporter for better or worse, so I'm sure Underwood was expecting this kind of reaction.
