Last night on American Idol, a contestant, Bryson Quick, shared a connection to Luke Bryan that they explored briefly. The connection and Underwood's hilarious remark were so good that the moment was clipped and shared to the show's Instagram.

It turns out that Quick's dad had actually met Luke Bryan before. "You ever been to Blackberry Farm?" Quick asked Bryan. "Well he was a fishing guide there for a while and took you fishing several times."

Luke Bryan confirmed that he had indeed gone fishing down at the farm. Incredibly, the judge remembered Quick's dad when his name was revealed, "Alex."

"Alex! Yeah, I got you," he excitedly recognized.

Carrie Underwood immediately jumped in.

"I've been fishing at Blackberry Farm," she innocently added. "I didn't need a guide though, Luke," she suddenly joked.

I was not expecting such a piercing joke, and it's hilarious. All the judges reacted, and Underwood even hyped up her own burn. Bryan looked as though she had just stabbed him in the heart. Even the crew got involved.

To add insult to injury, the editing team then threw up many pictures of Carrie Underwood with her caught fish. Just so we know she's being for real.

Internet Reacts To Savage Carrie Underwood Moment

Fans of the show took to the comments to share their thoughts over the funny moment.

"I love Carrie lowkey savage when you least expect it LOL," wrote one.

"Kind Carrie has left the building!" exclaimed one fan.

"We need an Idol Judge Fishing Competition," suggested one. I'd be so down for that, especially now there's some heat to back it up.

"She should have used a guide. She caught minnows," laughed one. But hey, a catch is a catch.

"Go Carrie always a rapid spit fire love here," supported one more.

Fans are loving having Carrie Underwood on the show. Although not everyone is a fan, she's brought a lot of personality to the judging panel.
