Carrie Underwood's Christams Traditions

While the gifts may vary from year to year, the traditions stay the same. Carrie Underwood shared her must-do Christmas traditions with MovieGuide and honestly I love them so much. I was already obsessed with the American Idol winner but these traditions just make her seem even more wholesome.

1. Real Trees Are A Must

While the star admitted that she was used to fake trees from her Christmas's growing up, that is not the case with her family now. The whole family goes to the Christmas tree farm and picks out a tree together. She told MovieGuide, "In our own home, we do the real tree thing, and we try to make that a bit of a tradition. We go, and we pick it out. The boys have some say in which one we get, and they feel some ownership, and we all decorate it together and, of course, have Christmas music playing in the house."

2. It Isn't Christmas Without Matching PJS

In addition to shopping for a tree together, another one of Carrie Underwood's Christmas traditions is to all have matching pajamas. Honestly this seems so cute and festive to me, I may start forcing my husband to do this with our family. The country singer shared that some years she buys the pajamas for her family while other years they are gifted. However regardless of who buys them, her family is always rocking matching PJs. Even the dogs get in on the action. She jokes, "And getting my German shepherd into a Christmas sweater is no easy feat, I will tell you that."

3. Special Festive Cookies

Who said that Christmas cookies are just for Santa. This is one Carrie Underwood Christmas tradition that my family actually does too. Nothing screams "It is the holidays" more than the family gathered around the kitchen, baking some cookies and listening to Jingle Bells. Another thing that Underwood and I have in common is that we both use our grandmother's recipes. While I am making my grandmother's signature Czech cookies, Underwood and her family use her husband's grandmother's recipe.

She shared that they make ginger snap cookies and that her son Isaiah loves to make them because of the fond memories he has of his grandmother. "It's something special we get to do," Underwood shares.
