It looks like time really does heal all wounds. After 40 years of feuding, Chevy Chase and Bill Murray have finally decided to end their SNL feud. Apparently the good times were rolling at Chris Rock's 60th birthday bash, so much so that it brought these two back together — and just in time for SNL's 50 Anniversary show.

Chevy Chase And Bill Murray End Their Long-Time 'SNL' Feud

Both Chevy Chase and Bill Murray used to star on SNL. According to the NY Post, Chase appeared on the show between 1975 and 1976. Whereas Murray starred on the show between 1977 and 1980. Although they starred on the show in different years, they came together for an episode in 1978. That is where the drama unfolded.
Apparently, during that time, Murray made a rude comment to Chase about his rocky marriage at the time. In turn, Chase decided to mock Murray's physical appearance. The jabs from both men lead to an argument which later lead to an altercation.
Back in 2010, Chase spoke to Esquire about the confrontation. He stated, "Bill Murray and I came to fisticuffs, but we never really ended up hitting each other." Then, he shares the story of how another person got in the middle of them, stopping the fight. However, that person suffered a blow from each Murray and Chase, which they felt was fitting seeing as that individual instigated the whole mess in the first place.
However, after 40 years, Chevy Chase and Bill Murray have decided to bury the hatchet and end their SNL feud. What better place to do it than at Chris Rock's birthday party?
Chris Rock's Birthday Bash Brings People Together

The night before SNL hosted its 50 Anniversary show, Chris Rock held the birthday party of the century. No better way to celebrate turning 60 than celebrating with all of your close celebrity friends. It is there that Chevy Chase and Bill Murray showed fans that they decided to end their SNL feud. Chase and Murray posed for a photo together, where both are smiling at the camera. With Chase's arm casually draped across Murray's shoulders it looks like all is well now.
Murray isn't the only star that Chase took photos with that evening. There were also photos of him with other SNL alums. Such as Adam Sandler, Eddie Murphy, David Spade, and Amy Poehler. Additionally, he posed for photos with various celebrities including Ryan Reynolds and Blake Lively, Dave Chappelle, and Steven Spielberg.
Fans Focus On Blake Lively

While Chase posted a variety of stars on his Instagram feed from Chris Rock's birthday bash, fans seemed to focus on one star in particular. Chase posted a carousel of photos from his star-studded night and the first photo of that group was with Ryan Reynolds and his wife, Blake Lively. Fans went to the comments to share their frustration at Chase for posing with them and for Rock for inviting them at all. Here are some of the top comments on Chase's post of the evening.
"Not Ryan and Blake, but love everyone else! Not sure why they are the first pic????"
"Delete the first picture."
"Blake is canceled."
"Eddie Murphy or Bill Murray should've been the first pic."
"I'm trying to understand why TF Chris Rock would invite Blake and Ryan? ?."
"What did they pay you to post that first pic? Cmon bro you better than that."
"Did you hire an intimacy coordinator for that picture with Blake? Hope you recorded everything in case you get sued. ?"
All of this dislike towards Blake Lively came after her lawsuit and allegations against costar Justin Baldoni.
