"I had been at Sony for almost 19 years," Young tells Taste of Country Nights. "My deal was actually up, so I was like, 'I get to play free agent for once.'"

Young's original plan was to look at several different record labels. But fortunately for him, and Black River Entertainment, the first meeting also became his last.

"I was just gonna take a whole bunch of meetings," Young reveals. "My very first meeting was with Black River Entertainment. Sat with them for three hours. Played the new music -- they loved all the songs. They gave me everything I asked for and more."

It doesn't hurt that one of the ACM Entertainer of the Year nominees, namely Kelsea Ballerini, is also on the same level.

"One of the things that got said was, they're like, 'Look, we got our queen. We want you to be our king,'" Young remembers. It became an offer he couldn't refuse.

"Man, that's hard to turn that down," he adds.

"'Til The Last One Dies"

Young just released his first song on Black River Entertainment. The Tennessee native dropped "'Til The Last One Dies," a romantic love song that he rightfully predicts will become an anthem for couples all over the country.

"Songs like this don't come along every day, and I haven't released a 'wedding love song' in a while," he says. "Those songs are a core part of who I am as an artist. I've been doing this for a long time, and yet this feels like a new chapter. It's invigorating for me as a creator."

Written by Ben Hayslip, Seth Mosley, and Jordan Walker, Young admits he was happily surprised by fans' reactions to he romantic tune.

"I'm blown away with the support I'm already seeing from fans and country radio on 'Til The Last One Dies'" Young says. "I'm grateful, and couldn't ask for a better start as a Black River Entertainment recording artist."

Young is currently working on his debut album for Black River Entertainment, which is expected to be announced in the near future.
