Clint Eastwood Mourns The Loss Of Gene Hackman

Hollywood is going through a serious grieving process from the loss of Gene Hackman. Currently, no biopsy has been done to determine the exact cause of death. But it's currently ravaging so many actors who are inspired by or have directly worked with him in their careers.

One of the prominent names sending their condolences is Clint Eastwood. The pair worked together in in the 1992 western Unforgiven, a film starring and directed by Eastwood. In a statement to Variety, he eulogizes the late actor by lauding his acting chops. "There was no finer actor than Gene. Intense and instinctive. Never a false note. He was also a dear friend whom I will miss very much," Clint writes.?

Additionally, Nathan Lane of the 1996 Gene Hackman led comedy The Birdcage shares his thoughts as well. He highlights their time working together and muses on what made Hackman such a special actor. "Gene Hackman was my favorite actor, as I think I told him every day we worked together on 'The Birdcage,'" he tells People. "Getting to watch him up close it was easy to see why he was one of our greatest. You could never catch him acting. Simple and true, thoughtful and soulful, with just a hint of danger.

"He was as brilliant in comedy as he was in drama and thankfully his film legacy will live on forever. It was a tremendous privilege to get to share the screen with him and remains one of my fondest memories. Rest in peace. Mr. Hackman," Lane concludes about Gene.

Iconic director Francis Ford Coppola of Godfather and Apocalypse Now fame shares similar sentiments for the fallen actor. "The loss of a great artist, always cause for both mourning and celebration: Gene Hackman a great actor, inspiring and magnificent in his work and complexity. I mourn his loss, and celebrate his existence and contribution," he writes in an Instagram post.
