Cody Johnson doesn't know what he would be like if he hadn't met his wife Brandi, and he doesn't want to know. Johnson reveals that it's Brandi, whom he wed in 2008, who changed everything for him, for the better.

"I was the guy that, before my wife met me, I would have multiple girlfriends and tell them about each other," Johnson tells Taste of Country. "I was not a great guy."
Not only that, but Johnson, who once worked as a prison guard, reveals he was one "wrong place/wrong time" away from ending up behind bars instead.
"We would drive to a completely different town just because we got a phone call that somebody wanted to fight," Johnson recounts.
"Even when we moved to the buses ... we've had guns pulled and all kinds of (things)."
Johnson's wild ways ended when he looked up in a bar and saw Brandi, similarly to the story that plays out in his hit single, "The Painter."
Cody Johnson's Sweet Love Story With His Wife, Brandi
Cody Johnson admits he has had to learn to be romantic. He laughs now as he recalls the way he proposed to Brandi, although fortunately, she still said yes.
"This might be really cheesy, so I'll tell you how I proposed to my wife," Johnson shares. "Our first date, I took her to a Texas Roadhouse here locally, and we sat in a booth. I was just so in love and I could not wait to make her my wife. A year later, to the date, we parked in the same spot, went to the same booth, and when we walked back out to the truck to leave, I got on a knee and asked her to marry me, and it was pretty special.
"But I've done more romantic things," he adds. "Just for the record, I've done a lot of stuff."
The couple is already proud parents to two daughters. Brandi is currently pregnant with their third child, and first boy, due later this fall.
"So the fact that he's gonna be born into a cattle ranch, that's gonna be cool," Johnson says on SiriusXM's The Highway. "He's gonna be the little, I promise you, the little buckaroo riding around with six shooters on."
