Cody Johnson Reveals Massive Diet Change, Sees 'Tremendous Health Improvements'

"I'm not eating any bread, anything like that," Johnson reveals on Audacy's Superstar Power Hour. "And it sucks because whenever your daughter wants to go to Texas Roadhouse for her birthday party, and you go in and they lay those cinnamon biscuit roll things in front of you, and your mouth's drooling. I would kill somebody for some biscuits and gravy right now."

Still, Johnson vows to commit to his healthy eating plan for the time being, mostly because it works.

"I'm 38 years old. I've been doing this for 20 years," Johnson says. "I've been on it for four months and been working out really good, and saw some tremendous health improvements, some tremendous body improvements, [and] mental clarity."

Cody Johnson's Lengthy History With Texas Roadhouse

Johnson has a lengthy history with Texas Roadhouse. The Texan reveals it was there that he took his wife, Brandi, on their first date, and also where he popped the question.

"This might be really cheesy, so I'll tell you how I proposed to my wife," Johnson reveals. "Our first date, I took her to a Texas Roadhouse here locally, and we sat in a booth. I was just so in love and I could not wait to make her my wife. A year later, to the date, we parked in the same spot, went to the same booth, and when we walked back out to the truck to leave, I got on a knee and asked her to marry me, and it was pretty special."

"But I've done more romantic things," he adds with a laugh. "Just for the record, I've done a lot of stuff."

Johnson is currently enjoying his reign at the top of the charts. He has the No. 1 song in the country with "I'm Gonna Love You," his duet with Carrie Underwood.

"I'm incredibly grateful to country radio for making 'I'm Gonna Love You" my fourth #1 single!" Johnson says. "Sharing this milestone with the amazing Carrie Underwood makes it even more meaningful."
