From October 7 to 12, make sure you're in Belton, Texas, as the COJO Championship Event is coming back to the Cadence Bank Center Arena. If you liked it last year, then there'll be even more reason to go.
The five-day event will benefit the Texas Future Farmers of America Association, just like last year. Although I'm sure we'll be able to raise even more money this time around. Each day is packed full of events, music, and shows.
In a press conference shared with us, it has been revealed that "both the Breakaway Roping and the COJO
Open are now officially recognized as American Contender Series Events." This means they'll be even bigger and better than last time.
Cody Johnson said so himself in an Instagram video. Also revealed, was that this time there will be "a dedicated All Ladies Day featuring Breakaway Roping and Ladies Team Roping." It'll be a day for all the cowgirls out there.
Team Roping Is Near And Dear For Cody Johnson
Team roping has always been a passion for Cody Johnson. In a statement shared with Wide Open Country, Cody Johnson said, "Team roping has always been a huge part of my life, it's my refuge from the stage and the spotlight."
"When I'm on horseback with a rope in hand, I'm not the guy on tour or in the studio, I'm just a
cowboy, and that's who I've always been at heart."
