We now know the fate of Conner Smith, following his involvement in a fatal accident. Smith was driving a pick-up truck in downtown Nashville on June 8 when he reportedly hit 77-year-old Dorothy Dobbins, who was in a crosswalk at the time. Dobbins went to Vanderbilt Medical University, where she sadly did not survive her injuries.

On July 10, Smith was issued a misdemeanor state citation from the Metropolitan Nashville Police Department, per People, for the accident.
"Conner is incredibly grateful to the MNPD for their time and efforts to carefully investigate this tragic accident and has continued to cooperate at all times," Smith's attorney, Worrick G. Robinson IV, says.
"His thoughts remain with Ms. Dobbins' family," the statement continues. "And he remains committed to honoring her memory with compassion by supporting efforts to improve pedestrian safety and help prevent future tragedies."
Smith's charge is reportedly for failure to yield, resulting in a fatality. The charge shows a "lack of criminal intent," per People.
What Happened In Conner Smith's Tragic Accident
The misdemeanor charge likely comes since Smith was not impaired. After the accident, Smith issued a statement, per his attorney, expressing his heartache over the situation.
"On June 8th, Mr. Smith was involved in a car accident that tragically claimed a life," Smith's attorney said on his behalf at the time. "His heart goes out to Ms. Dobbins' family during this incredibly difficult time. Mr. Smith continues to cooperate fully with the ongoing investigation."
"The preliminary contributing factor for this crash appears to be Smith failing to yield the right of way to the pedestrian," the statement continued. "He showed no signs of impairment."
Smith subsequently canceled some of his shows, to deal with his grief and heartbreak over the fatal accident. His talent agency, WME, said he wanted to "privately process recent events."
"He will unfortunately not be performing in Akron on June 20," WME announces. "We appreciate your understanding and continued support during this difficult time."
Smith's next show will now take place on August 2 in Ohio. Smith's first album, Smoky Mountains, has been out since early 2024.
