Dierks Bentley And Jason Aldean Can't Decide Who Would Open For Who

It seems like Dierks Bentley and Jason Aldean want to tour together again, but they can't seem to figure out who should open for whom.

Being a tour opener is usually reserved for a smaller artist to get the crowd ready for the main event. The headliner/opener relationship is typically a hierarchy of who's more famous or in demand than who. Which is why Bentley and Aldean are having a pretty difficult time deciding who should open.

Both artists sat down with Evan Paul on Taste of Country Nights recently on different shows. It has been 20 years since Dierks Bentley and Jason Aldean toured together. So, they were both asked by the host about doing another show with the other, and were both quick to agree to the idea.

When Paul asked Dierks Bentley, not only did he agree, but he offered to open for his buddy. Considering Jason has opened for Bentley in the past, it may be his turn to get the crowd warmed up.

When Aldean was asked, he had a lot more to say.

"I'm down! Man, I'm always down to play shows and hang out with friends," he said. "Dierks, set it up."

Both Bentley And Aldean Are Cool Opening For Each Other

Aldean was told that Bentley offered to open for this show. It must be awkward deciding who should headline the show when they're both friends. But Aldean was indifferent about it.

"I don't care. I'll play wherever," he simply said. "Let's get a show and figure it out."

So it looks like we might suddenly be getting a Dierks Bentley and Jason Aldean show, maybe even this year.

Considering how big they both are, I don't think they really care who goes first. Neither of them has anything to prove by being the headliner, and they're both friends.

Jason Aldean continued about their friendship. "Hey, I love Dierks. One of the first tours I ever did, Dierks was the headliner, and Miranda [Lambert] and I were each opening, and we would kind of flip-flop opening each night," he recalled.

"It was fun, we were all kind of new to the game, even Dierks — even though he was headlining, he was new to that whole thing," he recalled.

"It was just fun, a bunch of youngins trying to figure out the business."
