Dierks Bentley gets open about how amazed he was watching Zach Top perform for the first time in an honest and heartwarming conversation.

Zach Top has been tagging along with Dierks Bentley on his Broken Branches Tour, although that's not all the "Good Times & Tan Lines" hitmaker has been doing. In only eight hours (as of writing), Zach Top's next album will be released, Ain't In It For My Health.
Yesterday, to celebrate this release, Spotify got Dierks Bentley and Zach Top together for some golf and a chat. In their Countdown To Ain't In It For My Health video, both country stars pay each other huge compliments.
But Dierks Bentley, who's been in the industry for a while, has pretty big praise to give. He told Zach Top what it was like to see him perform for the first time, and just how amazed he was.
"Mary Hilliard, my manager, told me about you," he explained. "I think I already known about you a little bit."
"We played together last year," he continued. "I remember, you walked on stage. I was like, 'Wow.' The energy there, you just feel like that something special was happening with you."
Hearing that from someone like Dierks Bentley must have done wonders for his ego. But Bentley's praise didn't just stop at Zach Top. It extended to his band, too.
Dierks Bentley Loves Zach Top's Band, Too
"And for me, it's also just your band, too. I mean, just a really great band. So fun to be around. That night I remember hanging out, having some beers by the buses. And [it] just seems like you guys have a great time."
Zach Top agreed, and explained that at least half of his band is people he's known and played music with forever. So there is something tangibly special about the relationship Zach Top and his band has.
So much so, that when his fiddle player had to quit when they weren't making money, he cut that part from his songs instead of getting another random fiddle player to sub in.
Now that is family. And Dierks Bentley really appreciates it.
