Dierks Bentley is responding to the rumors that he is appearing on the upcoming season of Survivor. Bentley had fans in a frenzy when it appeared that he might be the celebrity artist joining the cast for Season 49. But unfortunately, it seems the rumors are, sadly, unfounded.

"I posted something online ... I actually tried to support a friend of mine here in town, saying she would be a great contestant on Survivor," Bentley tells Taste of Country Nights. "But it kind of came back toward me, and I was like, 'Oh my gosh, I can't believe this is a possibility.'"
Still, the Arizona native says that, while it might be fun, he has zero plans to be on Survivor in the future.
"For now, I'm just gonna be a fan."
Fans were quick to praise the possibility of Bentley, an avid outdoorsman, to appear on the show. But one person who wasn't a fan of the idea was his daughter, Jordan.
"My 14-year-old knows that I'm a beast when I don't get enough sleep," the "American Girl" singer admits. "I'm a pretty bad sleeper as it is."
"My daughter was like, 'Dad, you're a beast when you don't sleep, and you would probably get canceled," he adds. "You would probably say something absolutely crazy and you'd probably get canceled.'"
Celebrity Guest on 'Survivor'
Internet sleuths can now, unfortunately, eliminate Bentley from the list of potential contestants on the reality TV show. But that then leaves open the question of who it will be, since longtime host Jeff Probst does say someone very well-known will join the cast this season.
"We have someone applying for Season 49 who is very accomplished and known around the world," Probst says on his On Fire with Jeff Probst podcast(via American Songwriter). "They too are going through the same casting process, the same way every other player did, because this is everything."
Famous or not, Probst does say celebs don't get a free pass when it comes to being part of Survivor.
"We have to know you," says Probst. "We have to anticipate you. There's not a right or wrong answer in casting. People often say, 'How do I get on the show?' Just be yourself. We just want to know who that version of you is."
Season 49 of Survivor is expected to premiere on CBS this fall.
