Dolly Parton Calls Out Indiana Governor For Axing Imagination Library Funding

I think we can all agree that the children are our future. It's best that we lead everyday trying to invest in a world that we can leave behind for them. The last thing we should ever want is to feel like they're cleaning up our messes. One of the most important things to take stock in is the literacy of our growing kids. To rob them of the potential to learn is to stunt them significantly. Dolly Parton definitely agrees if her Imagination Library non-profit organization is any indication. So imagine her shock when Indiana governor Mike Braun didn't account for this in his state's budget.

Recently, Dolly's team wrote a statement addressing the budget cuts for her Imagination Library foundation. There, she earnestly stresses how important it is to encourage learning with the youth. Consequently, they can learn so many treasured qualities in literature, let alone the mere ability to read and write. "We are hopeful that Governor Braun and the Indiana Legislature will continue this vital investment by restoring the state's funding match for local Imagination Library programs. The beauty of the Imagination Library is that it unites us all—regardless of politics," Dolly and her team stresses. "Because every child deserves the chance to dream big and succeed."

Dolly Parton Urges Indiana Governor to Continue Funding Organization for Children's Reading

Additionally, Parton and co. puts it all into perspective just how much her organization helps out children in Indiana. "For the past two years, the State of Indiana has been a proud partner in bringing Dolly Parton's Imagination Library to over 125,000 Hoosier children each month. Together, we've helped nurture a love of reading, given families precious moments of joy, and built a foundation for lifelong learning," Dolly writes.

I couldn't agree with the queen of country more. We musn't handicap our kids and discourage them from learning. We want them to think for themselves and lead with care and sympathy for their fellow person. Hopefully, the Indiana governor hears Dolly out in her mission statement.
