Singing at the inauguration of any new president is supposed to be about patriotism and national pride, as Carrie Underwood found out.

An insider has already leaked the demands Underwood made before her inauguration performance. It included a custom-made dress, an entourage, and a few other bits and pieces. However, this was all she got from the organisers as Carrie Underwood wasn't actually paid to sing at the inauguration.

In fact, none of the performers were paid, it was all for free. Of course, she did get her lovely dress, but that was all she took home. Anyone who chose to sing at the inauguration did so for no money at all and was paid in thanks and presidential brownie points.

Although Carrie Underwood wasn't paid to sing at the inauguration, there were some benefits to her performance. Her song, which was plagued by technical difficulties, warmed a lot of people to the star. Coming from humble beginnings as an American Idol winner, she has risen to a huge place of pride.

Underwood Was Paid In Different Ways For Her Inauguration Performace

Sure, she may not have received a direct payment for her performance at the inauguration of Trump, but that doesn't mean she didn't profit.

Underwood was paid in publicity for her performance at the inauguration. It doesn't get much more prolific than singing, front and center, for the new president of the United States. She was given the opportunity to be given the limelight in front of millions of viewers worldwide.

Her performance had a few technical issues too, like a number of the artists. However, she managed to pull it all together. Singing acapella, in a crowded room, she wowed audiences with her ability to still put on a show, despite the problems.

Rather than letting the issues get the better of her, Underwood managed to still belt out her tune. The kind of publicity Underwood got for the inauguration can't be paid for. I am sure she managed to grab a whole load more listeners for performing her patriotic duty.

She got a rather nice dress out of the occasion too.
