When you really break it down, these two restaurants are not even in the same stratosphere. One is a skyrocketing chicken chain, and the other is a big boy in the business that can throw around its weight a little better. Oh, and it sells Mexican food. I'm not saying Taco Bell is bigger than Bojangles, but uh, this is absolutely a wild move. At least in my opinion.

The New Taco Bell Chicken Burrito
Yeah, so to give you some background on Taco Bell, they are currently dipping their toes in the chicken industry. And Bojangles apparently took some offense at this move.
As the subheader suggests, Taco Bell has launched its new Crispy Chicken Tacos as it begins testing the waters of the chicken subsection of fast food. They were just an experimental menu item and have done pretty well for the company.
But honestly, what hasn't? They have over 8,000 locations nationwide, and they're only expanding.
Well, Bojangles has been doing some expanding of their own. And I guess they decided that now was the right time to take on the fast food heavyweights. I wish I were kidding, but they've released, wait for it, a Breakfast Bo-rito. Yep, that's the name. (And lowkey, I can recommend.)
The menu item contains sausage, eggs, crispy Bo-Rounds, Monterey Jack cheese, and sausage gravy. All of those ingredients get packed into a tortilla, and the meal comes with a side of Texas Pete hot sauce. By the way, they released this menu item just a week after Chicken Taco came out.
Why The Bojangles Bo-rito?
According to a conversation with Bojangles' CMO Tom Boland via the Daily Mail the reasoning is, "We're always listening to our fans, and the Bo-Rito is our bold, flavorful answer to their craving for something new at breakfast."
Which is totally fair, as the restaurant has been expanding rapidly and is looking to sell for big money. They're already at over 800 locations. Not quite Taco Bell, but Bojangles is definitely on the scene.
The idea is to sell the franchise for 1.5 billion dollars. (And yeah, for that price tag, they better serve breakfast.)
I don't know how well this will work out for Bojangles, but I'm always here for a friendly competition.
