Rascal Flatts' Life Is A Highway: Refueled Duets album will be out on June 6. The ten-track record includes new versions of some of the trio's biggest hits, joined by some of music's biggest stars. Included on the project are both Blake Shelton and Jason Aldean, two of country music's most successful hitmakers right now.

Even Rascal Flatts admit that their original vision for Life Is A Highway: Refueled Duets didn't include so many superstars.
"Initially ... it was gonna be people that opened for us on tour or somebody that our music has influenced," lead singer Gary LeVox tells ABC News Radio. "And you know, it was such a long process to get it all done."
While the final version of Life Is A Highway: Refueled Duets expands beyond Rascal Flatts' original plan for the album, there are still personal ties to the threesome woven throughout all of the songs.
"We still got a lot of people that opened for us, like Carly Pearce is on the project," LeVox points out, adding that both Shelton and Jason Aldean also opened for them as well.
Rascal Flatts' "I Dare You" Collaboration With The Jonas Brothers
Rascal Flatts introduced Life Is A Highway: Refueled Duets by releasing "I Dare You," the first single from the album. Although not a country act, Rascal Flatts chose the Jonas Brothers to be the first collaboration to release as a single.
"We're so excited to kick off this next chapter of Rascal Flatts with this single. Working with Kevin, Joe and Nick is such a blast, they're class acts," Jay DeMarcus says. "I think this song fits perfectly into our catalog while also showing off something new and exciting."
The Jonas Brothers might be part of Rascal Flatts' first single, but it was another boy band that inspired Rascal Flatts to do a duets album in the first place.
"The Backstreet Boys is the first thing we did, and it turned out great," Joe Don Rooney tells their record label, speaking of singing "What Hurts The Most." "That kind of kicked things off. And then we had a little pause there for a little bit. We got back on the horse and finally rounded it out. So proud of this project. Grateful to be able to do it."
