What do you think of when you contemplate Thanksgiving? Turkey, of course. And football. And maybe some rip-roaring music performances? That was what some lucky fans got who saw the Thanksgiving Day match-up between the Detroit Lions and the Green Bay Packers. It was the 86th edition of the classic holiday contest.

In fact, the audience got even more than they expected. Headliner Jack White was joined by none other than Eminem for a real halftime treat that few will soon forget. The Detroit Free Press gushed that "the two homegrown stars" provided "one of the most memorable Ford Field performances in memory...."
It Was a Halftime Show for the Ages Featuring White and Eminem
Per American Songwriter, Jack White, 50, did a couple of his own tunes, then he brought out Eminem, 53, onstage. He performed "Til I Collapse" a track from his LP, The Eminem Show, which dropped 23 years ago. Eminem exec produced the gridiron gig along with his manager, Paul Rosenberg. Per the outlet, "For his first go-round, Eminem selected Jack White. ....Despite his roots, this marked White's performance debut at Ford Field."

Per the team's web site, the Lions made this announcement. Detroit Lions President & CEO Rod Wood said, "We're thrilled to be working with Marshall [Mathers, Eminem's actual name] and Paul, who are two of the most accomplished and respected names in the music industry, not to mention longtime Lions fans. Their reputation in the business will attract top-tier talent and help us solidify this annual performance as one of the most anticipated cultural moments on the NFL calendar."
Rosenberg added, "It's an honor for us to team up with the Lions and be a part of the greatest tradition in Detroit sports. We look forward to putting together unforgettable shows featuring world-class artists for the fans at Ford Field and the tens of millions watching around the country."
