Country singer Jason Aldean has been rather public about his support for Donald Trump, especially leading up to the election. He sat down with Fox News, where he expressed how he feels now that Trump's back in office.
Aldean was asked whether he feels vindicated for taking the risk of openly supporting Trump. Especially considering how so many other celebs kept quiet.
"Yeah, I mean, I do feel a little vindicated," he answered. He said that for the last four years, he took lots of heat for stepping up and showing his views.
He then said how although it's been an "odd" journey, it's "cool" to see all the celebrities that showed up to support Trump, despite them not speaking out before. "But it's a good thing, it just means that hopefully, things are getting back on track and on the same page," he continued.
Jason Aldean Believes That Things Will Be Better
A common consensus between Trump supporters is that the country was in decline during Biden's presidency. But now Donald Trump will 'fix' what was wrong.
When talking about Trump and what's to come, Aldean said, "I think for the last few years, as much as a lot of the media's tried to make it seem like everything's been so great, it hasn't. I think a lot of us knew that for a long time, and I think a lot of other people are starting to see it now."
Aldean echoes the beliefs of many others out there.
He continued, "So to have President Trump back in office, I just think it just gives everybody a sense of relief - or a lot of people a sense of relief - and I feel like we're headed in the right direction."
As with all presidencies, time will only tell if the supporters' optimism will pay off.
He earlier expressed how much of an honor it was to perform at Trump's inauguration. He said how it felt "electric" to be there. "This was a whole different ball game for me," he said.
