Jelly Roll Reveals That Post Malone Ruined His Plans For 2025

Fans can thank Post Malone that they get to see Jelly Roll on tour this year. The "Liar" singer was planning on a restful 2025, taking time off of the road, until Post Malone called and ruined those plans.

Only a couple of weeks after Jelly Roll said last fall that he would not tour in 2025, Post Malone announced his Big Ass Stadium Tour, with Jelly Roll serving as the opening act.

"It didn't even seem real how fast the tour came together," Jelly Roll tells Nashville Lifestyles. "Post hit me and was like, 'We should tour,' and I'm like, 'I'm always in, anytime.' Sure enough, the next day Live Nation hit management and said they want to do Jelly on his tour. From us agreeing to it, to announcing it was like 12 days, it was crazy.

"What's even funnier is I planned on taking next year off [from touring]," he adds. "So the cool thing is if you wanted to see me next year, you can now. It worked out perfectly. Go Post; shoutout to Post."

Jelly Roll's Big Plans for 2025

2025 is definitely not the year that Jelly Roll is taking time away. In addition to touring with Post Malone, he's also working as American Idol's first Artist-in-Residence. He is also crossing another big item off of his bucket list, when he makes his acting debut on CBS' Fire Country.

"I want to act, really bad," Jelly Roll tells Audacy," he says, admitting that it might sound "weird" to some. "I never thought I would act, but I've been really inspired by what Machine Gun Kelly has done with his career the last three years. I'm one of the old-school guys, and this is weird, but if I see somebody do something, whatever in me, since I was a kid, instantly goes, 'Oh, that's doable.'"

Jelly Roll's multiple projects could be due to his increasing energy, after losing more than 110 pounds. The Nashville native explains his decision to lose weight in a video posted on YouTube.

"A little bit over a year ago, I literally struggled to walk down my hill to the mailbox," he recalls. "It was really bad."

"I had let myself get to a point of just being really absolutely disgusted with myself," he adds. "I'd spent three or four years 'pretending' to try and work on my weight, and on my health, but I never actually really dug my heels in the ground and did the work."
