The house-cleaning continues at CNN. Now it seems to be Jim Acosta whose job may be in jeopardy. The feisty ex-White House correspondent known for butting heads with President Donald Trump during his first term in office might be on shaky ground at the outlet.

According to the New York Post via the Los Angeles Times, Acosta "could be heading for the exits rather than accept a move that would see him broadcast a nightly show starting at midnight." An anonymous CNN staff member commented per the Post, "The midnight thing is shocking [but] it is what it is."
CNN Is Making Some Pretty Dramatic Programming And Personnel Changes, With Potentially More To Come
The announcements of changes at CNN are coming thick and fast. The Status newsletter's Oliver Darcy was reportedly first to break the news of these programming changes.
Situation Room, a program hosted by Wolf Blitzer, will be moving from "the early evenings to the mornings," per the Post. Pamela Brown will be sharing the anchor duties with Blitzer. More concerning is the word that some 200 staff members could be axed. The reason? CNN is reportedly transitioning from "its linear television operation to a more digital-centered news outlet." That must be pretty cold comfort to those whose jobs are now apparently on the line.
Would Jim Acosta Even Agree To A Proposed Late Night Time Slot?
These anticipated shuffles would leave Acosta's program without its 10am Eastern Time slot. If he accepts the late night spot, it's not necessarily a step down professionally, given that midnight on the East Coast is 9 p.m. on the West Coast. However, whether Acosta would go for it remains to be seen.
Such a change would also mean he might have to relocate to Los Angeles. That would bring quite a lot of upheaval for him and his family. They currently live in Washington, D.C. One source did say to the Post "that a move to Los Angeles is not a requirement and that Acosta could continue to broadcast from Washington, DC, if he chose to do that."
So there seems to be plenty of uncertainty regarding Jim Acosta's status at CNN right now.
